Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Theory - 6 Days This is an advanced course in navigation and meteorology taken by candidates aiming for the Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore Practical Exams. The syllabus makes some provision for revision of subjects in the Day Skipper course but those who have not acquired the knowledge set out in this course are unlikely to be able to assimilate all the subjects covered in the advanced course in the time available. Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Practical - 7 Days
The Coastal Skipper course is an advanced skippering course for yachtsmen who already have a considerable amount of sailing and navigational knowledge, and are looking to obtain their Certificates of Competence.
The course teaches to the standard required to skipper a small cruising yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night in tidal waters.
Yachtmaster Ocean - 6 Days
This course covers celestial navigation and worldwide meteorology. It assumes knowledge of all subjects covered in previous shore based courses. RYA Coastal Skipper Course - 40 days
The aim of the 5.5 week RYA Coastal Skipper course is to provide accredited practical and theoretical training, exam preparation and entry into the RYA Coastal Skipper Exam. On passing the exam, candidates are qualified as RYA Coastal Skippers and are employable in the international yachting industry as deck officers (with STCW ’95). Students receive internationally recognized MCA approved RYA Certificates of Competence. |
