A steward or stewardess is in charge of the interior of the yacht and is similar to a 'house' keeper or hostess. On larger yachts you will have a chief Steward / Stewardess that may have as many as four or five staff under his or her command. The stewardess/ stewards job is to make sure that the interior of the boat is kept pristine and gleaming with fresh flowers and linen etc. He or she is also frequently in charge of arranging the supply of drinks to the vessel for both crew and guests. He or she does not necessarily need to be qualified, although increasingly there are a number of skills or qualifications that are very advantageous to those wanting to work as stewardesses/ stewards.
In order to best prepare yourself for work as a steward / stewardess on board a Super Yacht, Chilli Adventures recommend that at a minimum you complete the introductory course. Should you decide to complete the full training the end result is a fully competent Stewardess that will be able to work aboard any Super Yacht anywhere in the world.
