Costs - Lowest Fees around!
 
The program fees that you pay to take part in Summer Camp in the USA are subsidised by the summer camp that you will be placed at and therefore the upfront costs are much lower than other programs. There cannot be a better or more affordable way to get to the USA.   The Program fees outlines include the full package outlined below:

Pocket Money that is second to none!
Now, whilst you certainly will NOT become a millionaire by working at camp, you do make some good dollars that will cover your trip costs or allow you to travel for several weeks after you finish working at camp. Irrespective of your age, Chilli Adventures together with Camp Leaders have ensureed you’ll earn the top wages possible. This level of pocket money beats all other agencies hands down! You will earn a minimum of $1630 pocket money for the minimum 9 weeks work at camp.  Staff with specialist skills will earn a minimum of $1930. Each additional day that you work beyond the 9 week period will earn you an additional $35 per day. 

Recruitment and Assistance with your camp application form
Chilli Adventures will provide assistance with putting together an application form that will ‘blow the socks off’ Camp Directors looking to hire you!

Full visa application completion and submission to US Consulate. This includes the DS- 2019 visa sponsorship form necessary to apply for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa as well as the $35 US government SEVIS validation fee
Chilli actually complete all your visa documents (DS-156, 157, 158) on your behalf and submit this to the US consulate along with your supporting documentation and passport. The appointment booking fee is also covered and your interview booked at the US consulate.  Chilli Adventures have an excellent reputation with the US Consulates in South Africa and will assist you with every step of the visa process.

   
Prep Day Orientation
Prep day is done prior to departure with Chilli Adventures staff and former participants in order to help you prepare for your summer at camp. It is an exciting session that will cover everything from what to pack to games to play with your kids, and from travel options after camp to how to make an insurance claim.  You may also have the chance to chat to other counsellors placed at the same camp as you.

 
Guaranteed Placement at an accredited summer camp in the USA
Chilli Adventures will ensure that, through our Perfect Placement Process, you are placed at a summer camp that suits your skills, camp type choices and your personality.  Your placement at camp will also include food and accommodation (laundry as well in most cases).

Comprehensive Worldwide Work and Travel Insurance
This insurance meets and exceeds US government regulations, and includes full medical day to day as well as emergency.  The policy will cover you for 3 months and can be extended should you decide to travel after camp.

Access to discounted travel through our preferred travel agency
Once placed we will have our preferred travel agent quote you on ticket. Chilli’s travel agents offer discounted youth and student tickets and have offices world wide. 

Optional Flight subsidy of $800
Strapped for cash?  Chilli Adventures can offer you $800 of the pocket money you will be earning at camp, up front towards the cost of your flight. 

Domestic Travel to camp
Travel from the closest local international airport to your camp will be arranged and provided by your camp. A US domestic flight ticket allowance is also in place if you’re required to travel to areas outside major hubs.

24-hour Emergency Assistance Hotline
The experienced Chilli team is just a phone call away no matter what!  Once you get to the USA, the Camp Leaders team take over should you have questions you need answering or find yourself in hotter waters!

Chilli Adventures Tax Service
Whilst most counsellors don’t have tax deducted, some minimal local taxes may be deducted.  Chilli Adventures work with TAXBACK.COM to ensure that if you need to file a tax return it is done properly and you receive the maximum refund allowed by law. 

Chilli E-kit Phone card and water bottle
Because we know that in all the excitement you’ll forget to call home to mum, we’ve included a $5 calling card that can be topped up for cheap international calls. And a very cool waterbottle to help you stay hydrated through the long hot summer at camp!

Discounts with Chilli’s various travel partners
As a Chilli Adventures participant you are eligible for a 15% discount from any Cape Union Mart store in the period prior to departure. You’ll also get great discounts off Contiki, Trek America and First Ascent clothing.
