ELIGIBILITY

So, you LOVE the sound of camp!

The opportunity to spend the summer at a U.S. camp will certainly be a fun and rewarding work/travel experience to those willing to work hard and share a part of themselves with others. Chilli Adventures is looking for enthusiastic, flexible and motivated young people willing to work with and be a role model to American children.

Here’s who qualifies:   

	You are 18 by 1st June on the year you wish to travel
	You like kids (or are a big kid yourself!) and have some basic experience with children
	You are open minded, flexible, prepared to work hard and up for a new challenge!
	You have 9-11 weeks available between June-August
	You have not previously overstayed on a US visa.
	You have two or three skills that you feel confident teaching or assisting in teaching to kids (qualifications are nice but not a pre-requisite)
	You are excited for a great adventure and opportunity to explore the USA.

If this sounds like you, you’re half way there!

Make sure you’ve also read through the ‘Do What and Where’ section so you understand what a typical day is like. Here are some additional realities to consider:

	Camp staff duties and responsibilities are hard work and the hours are long.
	Camps are usually in isolated locations where social life during time-off breaks may be limited.
	Camps are structured environments with severe restriction on alcohol consumption (zero if you’re under the age of 21), smoking, and curfew.
	Camp conditions may be rustic and primitive.
	Dirt, insects, and wildlife are part of the experience.
	Camps count on a team/group atmosphere among their staff and campers.
	Privacy may be limited.
	American campers come from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, and have a range of personalities, abilities, and, in some cases, disabilities. A staff member's display of fairness, tolerance, compassion, and patience are valued and expected.
	American staff are coming to work for many of the same reasons you are, to have a fun and adventurous summer in the great outdoors.
