Heading back to the US? It’s Easy!
So long as you did not overstay your visa, and you are still a registered student, there’s no problem with getting another J1! And it really couldn’t be simpler. Think about it… you’ve been there, done that, and know the deal! You’ll likely also have an employer who’s happy to hire you back, a US bank account still in place and a Social Security card that does not expire!
So why cant you head over by yourself this time? Well, you still need a J1 visa and the DS-2019 work authorization that goes with it. And with the J1, come all the prerequisites that must be in place for this visa. As a returner you’ll receive the following:

DS-2019 Visa Sponsorship: Chilli Adventures operates with a US State Department sponsor to obtain the DS-2019 Visa Sponsorship necessary for you to obtain your J1 visa at the US consulate in South Africa. The DS-2019 costs in the region of $300 and is covered as part of your program fees. This is your work authorization and will, once your J1 is granted, allow you to work for the period of your summer vacation break. |

US J1 Visa Application Completion: Chilli complete all visa paperwork on your behalf this year. So thats DS-156, DS-157 and DS-158, plus we’ll assist you with supporting documentation and submit your visa paperwork to the US consulate ahead of your appointment. Remember Chilli have an excellent relationship with the US consulates in South Africa and a 100% visa granted rate. |

US Consulate Appointment booking: The $10 visa appointment fee is included as part of your program fees and the appointment will be booked for you by Chilli Adventures. |

Comprehensive Medical & Liability Insurance: AAA rated, medical & liability coverage is provided for 3 months. Additional cover is also available R110 for an extra month. |

SEVIS Validation Service: Online system allowing you to validate your visa upon arrival in the USA (mandatory), and update employment and housing information as necessary. |

GAC (Get a Clue) Sessions: Optional to attend. We’ll even pay you! See below. |

RETURNERS Pre-Departure Orientation: No need to attend the full session! We have an optional reminder session (1 hours tops), that covers all the essentials that you need to brush up on. |
