What the scoop in Thailand right now?

We’ve had a few questions about the political situation in Thailand and whether this impacts our guys currently teaching in Thailand or those planning to go.

First Thai Meal TESOL Group ThailandOur June intake of newbie teachers have just arrived safely and are heading down to Hua Hin to start their TESOL course (pictured here enjoying their first Thai meal).  At present everything is very calm and peaceful. The tourism authority of Thailand is calling on the new government to lift restrictions in tourist hotspots and a nationwide easing of restrictions seems likely within the next 48 hours. We have kept in close contact with our teacher community, which numbers more than 400, in order to keep up-to-date with the latest happenings in their cities, and all have reported that there is little tension and that the daily routine has changed very little. Overall the situation in Thailand is one of restraint from both the government and citizens alike. As always we urge those living and travelling within Bangkok to avoid areas such as Victory Monument, and other areas in which there have been scattered protest. We will keep everyone updated as things evolve but we expect things to remain peaceful as the country moves towards an announcement of a road map for constitutional reform and elections.
